As Thailand’s curfew has been lifted, Thailand has re-emerged as one of the best and most popular tourism hot-spots in the Far East. The stunning view from Ocean Front Villa at Conrad Koh Samui

As I sauntered towards the resort I was stunned by the dazzling panoramic views surrounding me. The rippling ocean that sparkled into my eyes beneath the magnificent bright entity of the skies gave me a warm and mesmerising welcome. Any political disturbance that the rest of the Thailand terrain may have been facing seemed like a distant fictional concept when met with such luxury at this fabulous resort. The Ocean Front Villa I stayed in was equally as picturesque; the extremely spacious villa came complete with a 10 metre infinity edge pool with spectacular views of the Gulf of Thailand and majestic sunsets over the fabled “Five Islands of Koh Samui” peeping over the ocean line, as they no doubt did centuries before my ancestors were born.

As the curfew had been lifted on Koh Samui, I was free to roam the island and go out for some dinner and drinks in the evening. Jahn, Conrad’s signature fine dining Thai Restaurant is renowned for Thai dishes and pairing wine dishes all over the island; the attentive staff presented me with dishes exuding with taste and texture. It was a fabulous culinary experience, especially as I could sit and ponder through the floor-to-ceiling windows over the expansive ocean beneath.

The following morning I made my way over to Zest, where the breakfasts are served. Jam-packed with a tasty selection of start-of-the-day dishes from all regions, the buffet style breakfast had everything you could possibly wish for, from the usual beloved breakfast staples to the many unique and local dishes with Asian flair.  One of the particularly impressive aspects to the dining at Conrad Koh Samui is the food stations offering an a la carte menu, bespoke dishes cooked to your liking, and a plethora of fruits and juices.

I can say with confidence, having been on holiday in Thailand during the period of the curfew and its end, that a holiday in Conrad Koh Samui, or any of the five star resorts we offer, will be as sumptuous and rewarding as ever.
