We have chosen Mauritius as our Luxury Holiday Destination of the Month this January. Known for its tropical climate, gorgeous lagoons, luscious plants and greenery, stunning coral reefs and wondrous wildlife, Mauritius is naturally well-endowed. The beautiful beaches make for relaxing sunbathing whilst breathing in the therapeutic, warm sea breeze. Mauritius has a vastly varied culture brought from people of all walks of life who have settled there over its history. Such diverse heritage derives from Mauritian Creoles descended from plantation owners, Indo-Mauritian descendents of working Indian immigrants, French colonisers and people from all over the world. The weather in Mauritius is still fantastic at this time of year; with an average temperature of 28°C and relatively low amounts of rainfall, the climate is particularly accommodating for our Luxury Holiday Destination of the Month in April. As Easter Sunday falls on 5th April, Mauritius would be a great destination for family holidays whilst the children are on their Easter break from school in the first fortnight in April. Or, for a quieter experience, the end of April still enjoys fantastic weather, but is unlikely to attract families – making for great couples’ escapes.
