Arriving at Mykonos – Our Luxury Greece Holiday Review
Our arrival at Mykonos airport reminded me of family holidays of years gone by; being able to revisit Mykonos was magical, and I couldn’t wait to tell everyone about it in my Luxury Greece Holiday Review. Mykonos is one of the most sought after Luxury Greece Holiday Destinations in the world and we felt privileged to be there. It was a pleasure to breeze through the tiny airport in a matter of minutes with the only sign of commercialism being a local one man kiosk in the arrivals area.
Our taxi driver greeted us with a smile as bright as the Greek October sunshine before a short drive to one of the most renowned Five Star Hotels in Greece. It only takes ten minutes to travel anywhere on this tiny island, and I was yet again becoming enchanted by the land and its people as we drove on.
We checked in at the Mykonos Blu Hotel and were in awe of the fabulous location which boasts the best view on the island. We further enjoyed the view from our delightful Island Junior Suite which came with our own private pool and garden!
The Food – Our Luxury Greece Holiday Review
Fresh Seafood and Mediterranean Cuisine at L'Archipel Restaurant Mykonos Blu
The dining facilities at Mykonos Blu Luxury Greek Resort are varied. A fabulous feast of Greek specialities were washed down with some surprisingly excellent local wine at L’Archipel, a relaxed, elegant restaurant serving contemporary Mediterranean cuisine and delicious Greek fare, al fresco. If you fancy a visit to one of the Best Fine Dining Restaurants in Greece, Aegean Poets is an ancient Grecian themed haute dining restaurant at Mykonos Blu that is fringed in intricate golden detailing; it is the sort of place what would entrance you in its heavenly ambience.
Our Mykonos food experience was completed with a fabulous à la carte dinner at the Mykonos Grand Hotel – another Top Luxury Hotel in Greece, which has its own fabulous dining facilities. Mykonos Grand Hotel is a luxurious and elegant Beach Resort in Greece located at Shirley Valentine beach. The beach is named after Willy Russell’s comedic play... This is definitely a place to find a transformative lease of life and perhaps a spot of romance!
Day Trips and Excursions – Our Luxury Greece Holiday Review
We were eager to explore whilst on our Luxury Greece Holiday. Our first excursion was to Mykonos town, a quaint labyrinth of cobbled streets, whitewashed buildings, fine designer shops, seafood restaurants and some of the Best Nightlife in Greece.
Whilst we were in so close to Santorini, a beautiful neighbouring island, it would be silly not to visit whilst on our Luxury Greece Holiday. Santorini is home to the village of Oia where there are caves high within the rock face alongside traditional local dwellings, and some of the most Unique Luxury Hotels in Greece that you could ever hope to discover. It was a wonderful treat to relax here surrounded by the natural and understated elegance of Santorini.
Crete – Our Luxury Greece Holiday Review
The final destination of our Luxury Greece Holiday was Crete, the largest and most southern Greek island. The Amirandes Exclusive Resort is avant garde Crete and this stylish modern resort has the easy elegance of true European luxury. Here we were treated to sumptuous accommodation and villas and fine dining at this sophisticated beachfront resort.
The next day with heavy hearts, expanding waistlines and a promise to return, we departed and set off for our flight home. Our love affair with Greece had been re-awakened.”
