Days 1-2

Arrive into Lima and meet your private driver for the 40 minute transfer to Miraflores, where you’ll check in to Miraflores Park, A Belmond Hotel. Set overlooking the Pacific Ocean, this elegant retreat provides a relaxing introduction to Peru. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

Explore Lima on a private guided tour, discovering the colonial architecture of the historic centre, the fascinating Larco Museum and the contemporary neighbourhoods of Miraflores and Barranco. With Lima renowned for its exceptional gastronomy, there is also the opportunity to experience one of the city’s acclaimed restaurants before returning to your hotel.

Days 3-4

Fly from Lima to Cusco, approximately 1 hour 20 minutes, before continuing by private vehicle for around 1 hour 30 minutes into the Sacred Valley. Travelling directly into the valley allows you to begin acclimatising at a lower altitude. Check in to Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba, a beautifully designed hacienda-style retreat surrounded by mountains and countryside, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon.

Explore the highlights of the Sacred Valley with your private guide, visiting the colourful market at Pisac, the remarkable salt pools of Maras and agricultural terraces of Moray before continuing to Ollantaytambo, one of the best-preserved Inca settlements. Return to Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba for a relaxed evening.

Days 5-6

Board the Hiram Bingham, Belmond’s luxury train to Machu Picchu, for an approximately 3.5 hour journey through the spectacular Urubamba Valley, accompanied by brunch, cocktails and live entertainment. On arrival at Aguas Calientes, continue by bus for around 30 minutes to Sanctuary Lodge, A Belmond Hotel, uniquely positioned beside the entrance to Machu Picchu.

Rise early for a private guided visit to Machu Picchu, exploring the extraordinary Inca citadel before the crowds arrive. Return by train through the Sacred Valley, with the journey taking approximately 3–3.5 hours, followed by a 1.5 hour private transfer to Cusco. Check in to Monasterio, A Belmond Hotel, an atmospheric former monastery in the heart of the city.

Days 7-8

Discover the former Inca capital on a private guided tour, visiting the Plaza de Armas, Cusco Cathedral, Qorikancha and the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuamán. Spend the afternoon wandering the cobbled streets of San Blas or relaxing at Monasterio, A Belmond Hotel.

Transfer to Cusco airport for your flight to Lima and onward connection to Ecuador. 

Depending on flight schedules, you may need to overnight in Quito before continuing to the Galápagos the following morning.

Day 9

Fly from Quito to Baltra, where you’ll be met and transferred across Santa Cruz Island to Pikaia Lodge, a secluded luxury eco-lodge perched in the highlands overlooking the surrounding volcanic landscape. 

Settle into your surroundings before enjoying your first introduction to the island, perhaps exploring Pikaia’s private giant tortoise reserve. The lodge combines elegant accommodation with a programme of guided land and marine adventures, including excursions aboard its private yacht, M/Y Vision Pikaia.

Days 10-11

Set out aboard M/Y Vision Pikaia with your naturalist guide for a full-day exploration of the Galápagos. The exact destination will depend on conditions and the lodge’s schedule, with possible visits including Bartolomé, North Seymour, Santa Fe or Plazas. Enjoy opportunities for hiking, wildlife encounters and snorkelling before returning to Pikaia Lodge for a relaxed evening. 

Discover more of Santa Cruz today, travelling into the island’s highlands to encounter giant tortoises in their natural environment and explore the fascinating volcanic landscape, including lava tunnels. Return to the lodge to enjoy its infinity pool, spa or simply take in the views from this spectacular setting.

Days 12-13

Enjoy another full day of exploration by private yacht, visiting a different island or marine environment and discovering the remarkable wildlife both above and below the water. With naturalist-led hikes, swimming and snorkelling, each day offers a different perspective on the archipelago. Return to Pikaia Lodge for your final evening. 

After breakfast transfer to Baltra Airport for your flight back to Quito and onward flight home.
