Bhutan with Six Senses
A 2-week adventure around the spectacular Kingdom of Bhutan with a short stopover in Bangkok either side.

Day 1
On arrival in Bangkok, you will be met by the VIP team to whisk you through immigration seamlessly. Your stay in Bangkok will take place at the iconicMandarin Oriental Bangkok. During your visit, make sure to soak up the city’s vibrant markets and glittering temples before slowing down for a sunset stroll or boat ride along the Chao Phraya River.
Day 2-3
This morning, take a flight to Paro in Bhutan which takes around 3 hours 15 minutes. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred by car to Six Senses Thimphu, otherwise known as the “Palace in the Sky.” This journey takes around 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Spend your time exploring major landmarks like Tashichho Dzong and the towering Buddha Dordenma or wander through the bustling Centenary Farmers’ Market.
Days 4-5
Travel 2.5 hours by car to the picturesque valley of Punakha and check into Six Senses Punakha. Often called the “Flying Farmhouse,” the lodge is set on a terraced hillside overlooking emerald rice fields and the tranquil Punakha Valley. Whilst here, you can enjoy panoramic pool views, fresh farm-to-table dining, and easy access to gentle valley hikes and nearby cultural sites.
During your stay, explore the majestic Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most beautiful fortresses, set at the meeting of the Mo Chhu and Pho Chhu rivers.
Day 6-7
Today, travel to Gangtey which takes around 2.5 hours by car and check in at Gangtey Lodge, which sits high above Bhutan’s serene Phobjikha Valley. It’s an ideal base for exploring Gangtey Monastery, walking the valley’s nature trails, and spotting the endangered black-necked cranes in season.
Visit Gangtey Village to browse its quaint one-street shops and explore the golden-topped 16th-century Gangtey Goemba overlooking the valley. As evening falls, drive to the ancient Damchen Lhakhang and join the resident monks for tranquil sunset prayers in this little-visited temple.
Day 8-10
Today, depart Gangtey and drive to Paro, where Six Senses Paro awaits. The scenic journey takes just under five hours.
Explore the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery, perched dramatically on a cliffside, and visit the impressive Rinpung Dzong overlooking the valley. Wander Paro’s small town streets, browse local handicraft shops, and stop by the National Museum for a quick dive into Bhutanese culture.
Day 11-12
Return to Paro Airport to depart Bhutan, then enjoy a final night at the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok before your onward flight home.
