African Safari, River and Island Escape

Day 1: Arrive into Johannesburg and connect onto a scheduled flight to Madikwe Airstrip. The flight takes approximately 1 hour, followed by a short 15-minute game drive transfer to Madikwe Safari Lodge.
After settling into your suite, enjoy lunch overlooking the bush before heading out on your first afternoon game drive. As the sun sets across the reserve, return to the lodge for dinner beneath the stars.
Day 2: Begin the day with an early morning game drive as the reserve comes to life. Madikwe is one of South Africa’s premier malaria-free reserves and is renowned for sightings of lions, elephants, rhino, buffalo, leopard and the endangered African wild dog.
Return to the lodge for breakfast and time to relax by the pool before heading out on another afternoon safari. End the day with sundowners in the bush before dinner back at the lodge.
Days 3-4: Enjoy another full day immersed in the African wilderness. Between morning and afternoon game drives, relax in your suite, enjoy spa treatments or simply watch wildlife gather around nearby watering holes.
Your expert guides will tailor each safari to maximise wildlife encounters and photographic opportunities.
Spend your final full day exploring the reserve with additional game drives and guided bush experiences. With every drive offering something different, this is your chance to seek out any wildlife still on your wish list while enjoying the tranquillity of the African bush.
Day 5: After a final morning game drive and breakfast, transfer back to Madikwe Airstrip for your 1-hour flight to Johannesburg.
From Johannesburg, board your onward flight to Livingstone via a regional connection. The total journey time is typically around 4 to 5 hours including the connection.
Upon arrival, transfer approximately 20 minutes to The Royal Livingstone Victoria Falls Zambia Hotel by Anantara, located directly on the banks of the Zambezi River. Spend the afternoon enjoying the beautiful riverside setting. Zebra often wander freely through the grounds and the hotel offers direct access to the falls.
Later, enjoy sunset drinks overlooking the Zambezi River before dinner at the hotel.
Days 6-7: Spend the day exploring Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Walk the network of viewing paths to admire the immense curtain of water before choosing from optional activities including helicopter flights, river cruises, white-water rafting or cultural experiences.
Return to the hotel for a relaxed evening overlooking the river.
After breakfast, depart Victoria Falls and transfer approximately 1 hour 30 minutes by road to the Botswana border and the Chobe River region.
Board the luxurious Zambezi Queen and settle into your suite as you begin cruising through one of Africa’s richest wildlife habitats. Spend the afternoon wildlife spotting from the deck before enjoying dinner under the stars.
Days 8-9: Wake to incredible river views before heading out on guided water-based safari activities. The Chobe region is famous for its huge elephant populations as well as buffalo, hippos, crocodiles and prolific birdlife.
Return to the vessel for lunch before another afternoon of wildlife viewing and river cruising.
Enjoy another day exploring the waterways and floodplains of the Chobe region. Activities may include tender boat safaris, birdwatching excursions and visits to local villages, offering a fascinating insight into life along the river.
Spend your final evening onboard enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and spectacular African sunset.
Day 10: Disembark after breakfast and transfer approximately 1 hour 30 minutes by road back to Kasane Airport. Board your direct flight to Johannesburg, which takes approximately 1 hour 45 minutes.
Upon arrival, transfer approximately 45 minutes to Saxon Hotel, Villas & Spa for a luxurious overnight stay before your onward journey.
Spend the afternoon relaxing at one of South Africa’s most prestigious hotels. Enjoy the spa, beautiful gardens and exceptional dining before an early night ahead of tomorrow’s international journey.
Day 11: Transfer approximately 45 minutes to O.R. Tambo International Airport before catching a flight to Fascene Airport. Flights typically take approximately 3 hours with some routings requiring a short connection.
Upon arrival, transfer by road and speedboat to Constance Tsarabanjina. The transfer typically takes around 1 hour by road followed by approximately 90 minutes by boat through the stunning waters of the Mitsio Archipelago.
Arrive at Constance Tsarabanjina and settle into your beachfront villa overlooking powder-soft white sands and crystal-clear waters. Spend the remainder of the day relaxing and enjoying your first sunset on the island.
Days 12-19: Spend the next week enjoying the pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters of Constance Tsarabanjina. Days can be spent snorkelling vibrant coral reefs, exploring the Mitsio Archipelago by boat, enjoying watersports or simply relaxing on the beach.
With its laid-back atmosphere, exceptional marine life and beautiful ocean views, Tsarabanjina is the perfect place to unwind before your journey home. On your final day, transfer by boat and road back to Fascene Airport for your onward flight.
