Mahua Kothi is an intimate safari resort, with only twelve luxury lodges within its confines. Set only 20 minutes from the entrance of Bandhavgarh National Park, the area with the highest density of wild tigers in India, the lodges are safe and remote, and yet your experience will be full of spectacular and majestic flora and fauna.

The kutiyas (lodges) are built in the style of ‘MP Chic’ (‘MP’ being the state of Madhya Pradesh in which the park lies) that injects some local flavour into the place where you sleep; each lodge has an outdoor seating area with shaded day beds with a table and chairs. Each ensuite bathroom features twin hand basins, indoor shower, bath and separate w.c., complete with aromatic shampoo, conditioner, body scrub and wash. All of the twelve lodges are uniform and give you an oasis retreat away from the jungle wilderness and sociability in the communal areas of Mahua Kothi.

Safari drives occur twice a day: once early in the morning, and again in late afternoon before returning for a traditional evening meal in the dining room on a communal dining table. The servers will bring a tray full of chapattis, rotis, rice, poppadoms, various curried vegetable dishes, chicken and keema dishes, with pickles and chutneys for you to refuel on after an exciting few hours watching magnificent tigers roam their natural habitat.

Mahua Kothi Safari Lodge, being so close to Bandhavgarh National Park, lives and breathes nature and wildlife. Surrounded in the jungle wilderness of central India you can read books, use the internet, take some educating excursions to a local village, embark on a bird watching trail or take an evening to gaze at the stars. Yes, Mahua Kothi's most prominent facility is the fantastic jungle safari itself, but the lodge itself provides everything else you could possibly want. The other communal areas include a library, a boutique, swimming pool and outside terrace for unwinding, socialising and getting involved in a community holiday.
